Aljezur is located in the west of the Algarve (Algarve Barlavento) and is home of the Vicentina nature reserve. This municipality has a rocky coast line with high cliffs interspersed with many sandy beaches. Here you will find the mouth of the two main rivers of the region. The village Aljezur has houses typical of the rural architecture of the Algarve. Just as in other villages the artisan crafts continue to develop and favourite materials are e.g. wood and brass. The food is also influenced by the geographical location. It is a good place for fresh fish and other kinds of seafood, but it is also known for its delicious sweet potato. This is a destination where you can enjoy the calmness of the area, the sightseeing, the cultural tours and visit the monuments and historical houses.
